BUSINESS EXPERIENCE

Contract labor. Developed,
tested and implemented three interface files for bonus reporting
using PLSQL and UNIX. Worked with users to develop
specifications for these files.
May 6, 2002 – Aug. 6, 2005
Michaels Stores Inc. – Irving , TX
– (Senior Systems
Analyst) I led the IT HR Team on the Oracle HRMS upgrade
from 11.5.8 to 11.5.10 here at Michaels Stores Inc. I
developed the detailed Oracle HRMS project plan for the
current 11.5.10 upgrade. I help maintain the issues log as well
as help in the development and testing of the upgrade on the
technical side. I lead the weekly upgrade 11.5.10 meetings
with the users, developers, and Database Administrators. I
work with the users to resolve TAR issues for the upgrade. I
work with the Database Administrators to coordinate between
developers and users. In addition to managing the upgrade
project, I contributed to implementing customizations from the
technical side. I implemented PL/SQL, kornshell, workflow, and
self-service customizations and personalization’s to Oracle
SSHR. This project completed on schedule and was very
successful.
In the past 3 ½ years at Michaels I have led three major Oracle
HRMS conversions for Michaels Stores and Aaron Brothers. This involved many
hours of project planning, data mapping, identifying and building interfaces,
customizing self-service web forms, programming and testing using PL/SQL, Oracle
Data Pump, and Oracle API’s. Worked with users to test application and identify
issues. Developed conversion strategies, SQL loader scripts, conversion
wrappers, and kornshell scripts to load data. Created tables, view, procedures,
and functions in Oracle 8.1.7 database. This project completed on schedule and
was very successful. I built workflow processes for approvals. I helped
implement a self-service state tax piece and rehire piece specific to Michaels
used by the managers in the stores. I developed Discoverer reports based off of
user specs.
I recently developed a project plan to convert Canadian employees
into Oracle HRMS for the end-of-year project. This was a detailed project plan
to be completed in six months. This plan included all technical functions as
well as most all functional processes.
Jan 96 – Jun 01
Alcon Laboratories Inc. – Fort Worth, TX – (Senior
Information Systems Specialist)
In March 2001 I took over the immediate sole support for the
Concur Expense Management System v 4.02. This web based system supported over
4,000 users. My role was to manage the database, research and solve problems
with the current system while preparing to begin the conversion to the next
version of XMS 6.02. During this same time I also developed an Intranet
application to allow employees to view their vacation/sick time online. This
was developed using ASP and HTML along with the PeopleSoft Oracle database.
I worked on a project that extracted date from an Oracle database
displaying the information on the Intranet using Active Server Pages (ASP), Java
Script and HTML. This project consisted of allowing management levels to view
their employee’s PTO and Grandfather Sick Leave information on a real-time basis
without actually logging into PeopleSoft.
During my time at Alcon, I was a member of the PeopleSoft
applications technical development team. I supported both the HR and Benefit
departments. I have attended all PeopleSoft HR, Benefit, Payroll, and
PeopleTools classes. I have made modifications to panels, menus, Peoplecode,
and record structures for the currently installed production version of
PeopleSoft 7.5 HR, Benefit Administration, and Payroll systems. I have
extensive experience in SQR writing. While at Alcon I helped in the
implementation of a full PeopleSoft 7.0 version of Benefits Administration and
Payroll. This involved heavy sqr programming and the use of PeopleSoft’s Data
Mover and Import Manager tools for all conversion programs in order to aid in
conversion.
I have completed the process of a full upgrade from PeopleSoft
4.0 to 5.12 to 7.5. My role was to modify and test 80 SQR programs and 20
panels. I have written and modified many reports and batch processes using SQR
Report writer and the cron scheduler.
Oct 93 – Dec
95 Meridian Oil – Fort Worth, TX
– (System Analyst)
Member of the Application Development team designing and
developing PC applications in a Client Server environment. I have been involved
in every phase of the Business System Development (BSD) project for a redesign
of the Lease, Contract, and Mineral Systems for the Land department. I had a
tremendous amount of experience working with clients developing this system from
scratch. With this project I gained extensive Client/Server programming
experience using Powerbuilder and Visual Basic. Our goal on the application
development team was to move the current Legacy systems on the Mainframe to a
Client/Server environment using Sybase as the future Company data repository.
